TSE validates candidacy of Renan Santos for President of the Republic

The Superior Electoral Court validated, unanimously, the registration of the candidacy of Renan Santos, from the Missão party, for President of the Republic, along with his running mate Haroldo Medina. With this decision, the ticket is eligible to compete in this year's elections. The judgment of the registration had previously been on the agenda, but the analysis was suspended by the rapporteur of the case, Justice Dias Toffoli, who had also suspended the candidate's campaign on social media. The suspension occurred because 16 profiles were reported to the Electoral Justice 12 days late in relation to the established deadline. A few days later, Justice Toffoli himself reviewed his decision and released the electoral advertising of the ticket again, authorizing Renan Santos to use the suspended profiles and participate in debates on radio, television, podcasts, and other communication media. The decision also allowed the ticket to resume receiving electoral fund resources. In the final judgment of the registration, the TSE concluded that the candidacy was presented regularly, meeting the necessary requirements for the presidential race.
