The district of Braga recorded 154 declared business insolvencies by the end of August, positioning itself as the third territory in the country with the highest volume of insolvency proceedings. Consulting firm Iberinform was the source responsible for disclosing these data.

Nationally, the total number of insolvency actions recorded an increase of 5.1% in the accumulated period of the first eight months of 2026, when compared to the same period of the previous year. This growth reflects an upward trend in insolvencies across the country.

The district of Braga thus appears among the areas most affected by the business crisis in the period under analysis, ranking third in the national insolvency ranking. Iberinform, a company specializing in business information, was the entity that publicly announced these data on the economic situation of Portuguese districts.
