The City of Rio de Janeiro will change the working hours of municipal employees this Friday (the 11th) due to Rock in Rio. The decree establishing the change was published in the Official Municipal Gazette on Thursday (the 10th), determining that working hours be from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., repeating the same schedule adopted the previous week.
The justification for the measure is the intense movement of people from different regions of the capital and other locations caused by the festival. Therefore, the city hall claims the need to adopt special operations in urban mobility, traffic management, security, inspection, public transportation, and other essential services.
Excluded from the schedule change are the Municipal Health Department (SMS), the Municipal Public Transportation Company (MOBI-Rio), and other municipal agencies and entities whose services cannot be halted, thus ensuring the continuity of essential activities for the population.
