The Mafra Municipal Council transferred 168,277.26 euros to the Freguesia of Carvoeira, under the process of transferring competencies to the Freguesia organs. This process aims to reinforce local functions in areas such as urban maintenance and public space management, ensuring greater proximity and efficiency in the execution of daily tasks. The freguesias must apply these resources exclusively in the areas for which they were transferred.
Of the total amount allocated, 105,727.33 euros are destined for green space management, 55,648.73 euros for roads and public spaces, and 6,901.20 euros for the maintenance and repair of urban furniture. The list of roads and public spaces includes 268 items, including roads, small squares, open spaces, streets and alleys. Among the roads with investments exceeding one thousand euros are Estrada da Adega da Cruz (1,784.93 euros), Estrada de Fonte Boa da Brincosa (1,309.36 euros) and Estrada Regional 247 at Foz do Lizandro (1,223.14 euros).
Regarding green spaces, the values range from 17.28 euros, referring to the small roundabout at Praceta do Casal Baleia, to 16,761.60 euros destined for the spaces on Rua da Murtinheira. Among the most significant investments are the Miradouro da Carvoeira (7,490.88 euros), the Cemitério da Senhora do Ó (5,987.52 euros) and the Intergenerational Space/Park (4,086.72 euros).
In addition to the Municipal transfer, the Freguesia of Carvoeira also received 136,075.28 euros from the State Budget in 2026, calculated based on geographic, demographic, economic and social criteria. According to the 2021 Census, the Freguesia of Carvoeira has 2,840 residents, 1,158 households, 1,899 dwellings and 1,538 buildings.
