The Spanish Government activated the 11.27 million euro plan to recover Morro de Gos beach in Oropesa, one of the most affected beaches in the province of Castellón. The recovery of this coastal stretch faces a new stage after years of coastal regression and claims from local residents.
The state project was submitted for public display, allowing citizens to learn about and submit observations on the planned intervention. The works are budgeted at 11.27 million euros and aim to stabilize the coastal stretch between Cape Orpesa and the Chinchilla river.
The main objective of this intervention is not only to recover the beach, but also to adapt it to the effects of climate change, a growing challenge for Spanish coastal areas. For years, local residents have been demanding concrete measures to halt the deterioration of this beach.
