The Court of Appeal of Norway accepted the appeal of Marius Borg Hoiby, son of Norway's Queen Sonja, who had been convicted of violation. The decision allows the case to be reevaluated by the first instance court.
Marius Borg Hoiby has been in preventive detention since February. The court justified this measure with the risk that the defendant may try to contact one of his victims again and violate the restraining order that had been imposed on him.
According to the court, the 27-year-old has previously violated a restraining order in the past, which reinforces concerns about the danger of flight and repetition of similar behaviors.
