Brussels presented a proposal to adapt European Union legislation to the Outermost Regions, with the aim of reducing the isolation of these autonomous regions.
In total, there are seven outermost regions on the European continent, which are areas with specific characteristics due to their remote location and distance from the main EU territory.
The proposed measures cover areas such as agriculture, fisheries and migration, sectors considered essential for the economic and social development of these regions.
The European Commission emphasized that the measures will be adapted specifically to each region, recognizing that each one has different needs and challenges.
