Karina Ferreira da Gama, 47 years old, a resident of Brasilândia, in the North Zone of São Paulo, is one of the targets of the operation launched by the Federal Police on Thursday to investigate the financing of the film "Dark Horse," a production about former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL). The investigation targets the alleged diversion of parliamentary amendments destined for the work.
Karina had never produced a film before "Dark Horse." Before her "debut" in the film industry, her main experience was in the third sector. In recent years, however, she signed high-value contracts with the São Paulo city government, diversified her business, and opened a holding company in Aracaju.
Karina's proximity to federal deputy Mário Frias (PL-SP), also a target of the operation, coincides with this change in her trajectory. It was Frias who got Go Up Entertainment, Karina's company, into the production of the film about Bolsonaro.
Mário Frias, who was an actor in "Malhação" and has little experience with cinema, is another target of the operation investigating the film's financing. The Federal Police is investigating irregularities in the application of parliamentary amendments destined for the production of the work.
