Two weeks before the Athletics Grand Prix "Feira D'Aires" takes place, around fifty athletes are already registered for the event, which takes place on September 27, near the Sanctuary of Our Lady of D'Aires, in Viana do Alentejo. The competition, now in its 23rd edition, is open to participation by federated and non-federated athletes.

The event includes youth races, the main 10 km race and an 8.5 km walk, with prizes for the different age categories. Registrations for the youth races must be made through the Portuguese Athletics Federation website, while registrations for the main race are exclusively on the "A Correr" platform until September 22. For the walk, registrations are free and must be made at the Aguiar and Alcáçovas poles of the Library and at the Municipal Office of Viana do Alentejo.

The event is organized by the Municipality of Viana do Alentejo in partnership with the Athletics Association of Évora, the Alcáçovas Outdoor Trails, the Athletics Club of Viana do Alentejo, the Parish Council of Viana do Alentejo and the Humanitarian Association of Voluntary Firefighters of Viana do Alentejo. The main objectives are to promote athletics practice in the municipality and showcase local traditions and heritage.

The Athletics Grand Prix also aims to pay homage to Luís Filipe Martins Branco, the creator of the event, and hopes to double the number of participants compared to previous editions.
