The Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto (FCUP) hosts between September 11 and 18 the 77th Annual International Committee for Coal and Organic Petrology Meeting, an international gathering dedicated to the study of coal and organic petrology. The event takes place in two locations: at FCUP and at the Academy of Sciences of Lisbon. This meeting brings together specialists and researchers from the field from various countries to discuss scientific advances and research related to sedimentary organic matter and its derivatives. The meeting includes technical sessions, presentations of papers, and networking opportunities among participants. One of the main features of this edition is the tribute to the legacy of Deolinda Flores, Full Professor at FCUP, whose contribution to research in this scientific field is internationally recognized.
