The Portuguese wine sector faces a crisis that affects the entire country, according to the Confederation of Portuguese Farmers (CAP). The organization argues that support measures for the sector should cover all wine-producing regions and not just the Douro.
CAP, through its representative Luís Mira, considered that "in an adverse context that affects everyone, the public response must be fair, coherent and national". This position comes following possible support directed exclusively to the Douro region.
Luís Mira emphasized that the wine crisis is not limited to a single producing region, but affects the entire national territory. The agricultural organization thus demands equal treatment for all producers affected by the current situation in the sector.
