The Lisbon Stock Exchange was gaining 0.20% to 9,464.37 points mid-session this Thursday, December 10, 2024. Brent crude continued to trade above 100 dollars per barrel. The biggest gains on the Portuguese stock exchange went to Teixeira Duarte, which advanced 1.35% to 0.48 euros, followed by NOS with a gain of 1.02% to 4.94 euros, and by EDP which rose 0.89% to 4.76 euros. Among the gains were also CTT, Sonae, REN, Mota-Engil, Galp Energia and Banco Comercial Português.
In the opposite direction, Altri fell 0.64% to 4.68 euros, EDP Renováveis dropped 0.53% to 13.07 euros, and Semapa lost 0.48% to 20.60 euros. Corticeira Amorim, Jerónimo Martins, Ibersol and Navigator were also trading in the red.
Most major European exchanges were in the green. Germany's DAX rose 0.01% to 25,555.80 points, France's CAC 40 gained 0.15% to 8,168.83 points, while the UK's FTSE 100 fell 0.42% to 10,624.83 points. Spain's IBEX 35 advanced 0.26% to 19,731.71 points and Italy's FTSE MIB rose 0.38% to 52,073.50 points.
In the commodities market, Brent crude rose 0.61% to 101.83 dollars and crude gained 1.27% to 97.27 dollars. The euro was down 0.10% against the dollar to 1.16241 dollars and fell 0.01% against the pound to 0.85869 pounds.
