The Municipality of Mangualde completed, within the established deadline, the seven projects approved under the Recovery and Resilience Plan, with a total investment of around ten million euros. The president of the municipality, Marco Almeida, stated that this is "one of the largest public investments ever in Mangualde", highlighting the use of the European funding opportunity.
Among the completed works, the highlights include the requalification of the Municipal Neighbourhood of Mangualde, with an investment of three million euros, and the second phase of the requalification of the Felismina Alcântara Secondary School, also with three million euros. The requalification of the Mangualde Health Centre involved works worth one and a half million euros.
The Emília Alves Dias Residence was also completed, in the parish of Cunha Baixa, transformed into two T2 apartments for affordable rental, with an investment of around 300 thousand euros. The "Janelas do Bairro de Mangualde" Digital Commercial Neighbourhood represented an investment of around 700 thousand euros, while the Social Radar project and the acquisition of an electric bus complete the set of investments.
Marco Almeida concluded that Mangualde now has "better schools, better health services, better housing conditions, more sustainability, more innovation and more opportunities", an investment that covered the areas of education, health, social, housing, commerce and sustainability.
