The fourth edition of Niterói Expo Geek will be held this weekend, Saturday (12th) and Sunday (13th), from 10am to 8pm, at Caminho Niemeyer, in Niterói. The event is considered by the organization the largest free pop and geek culture festival in the state of Rio de Janeiro, with free admission and an expectation of receiving more than 30 thousand people.
The festival will feature more than 50 attractions and 60 hours of programming, bringing together various expressions of pop culture such as games, anime, cosplay, K-pop, comics, RPG, music, theater, literature and technology. Among the activities, highlights include swordplay, a safe combat sport that simulates medieval and fantasy battles using replicas of weapons made with padded materials.
The event will transform the architectural landscape of Caminho Niemeyer, with its curves designed by Oscar Niemeyer and Guanabara Bay in the background, into a space where anime characters, superheroes, cosplayers, gamers, K-pop fans, musicians and artists will share space during the two days of the festival.
