SIC prepares remake of telenovela "Avenida Brasil": "Avenida Portugal" arrives in 2027

SIC is preparing a Portuguese version of the Brazilian telenovela "Avenida Brasil", which will be titled "Avenida Portugal". This information was revealed in the same week that Globo announced the continuation of the original telenovela.

The premiere of "Avenida Portugal" is expected for the first quarter of 2027. The production will be made by the Portuguese channel SIC, continuing the trend of adaptations of Brazilian telenovelas for the Portuguese market.

Globo, the Brazilian broadcaster responsible for the original telenovela, simultaneously announced "Avenida Brasil 2", which is a continuation of the original story. The continuation is scheduled to premiere in January 2027.

The authorship of "Avenida Brasil 2" is by João Emanuel Carneiro, the same writer responsible for the original telenovela "Avenida Brasil", which was a great audience success in Brazil.
