Interioriza-te, Omplo, Digital Nomads Viseu District and AIRV promote meeting for entrepreneurs in Viseu

Jornal do Centro10 September 2026 at 11:02

Parque Urbano de Santiago in Viseu hosts on September 11 at 7:00 PM the "Ponto de Encontro Sunset", an event that brings together entrepreneurs, professionals and those interested in regional development, under the motto "The Interior at the center of good conversations". The meeting takes place at The T bar and is organized in partnership by Interioriza-te, Omplo, Digital Nomads Viseu District and AIRV.

The proposal aims to create, in an informal setting, opportunities for conversation and connection between people and projects, reinforcing the idea that the interior increasingly has the conditions to host innovative initiatives and generate synergies between different areas of activity.

The four organizing entities have complementary missions. Interioriza-te is a youth association dedicated to combating territory desertification, through stimulating employability and entrepreneurship. Omplo operates as an acceleration hub and support for business projects in the region. Digital Nomads Viseu District brings together remote workers and digital nomads who have chosen Viseu as their base. AIRV is a business association with over four decades of intervention with companies and business owners in the region.

The event is open to participation by any person or company connected to Viseu's business community, with free admission, with only any consumption at the bar being at each participant's own expense. Registrations can be made through a link provided by the organizers.

Brussels prepares legislative package to simplify banking regulation and strengthen sector competitiveness

The European Commissioner for Financial Services, Maria Luís Albuquerque, announced that the European Commission will present in the first quarter of 2027 a legislative package to simplify banking regulation in the EU, reduce fragmentation of the single market and adapt international standards to European specifics. The announcement follows the Report on Banking Sector Competitiveness, which identifies three major obstacles: fragmentation of the single market and the need to complete the Banking Union, better adaptation of international standards to the European economy, and excessive complexity of the prudential framework requiring greater proportionality for smaller banks. Albuquerque called for greater political ambition to solve structural problems, emphasizing that the resilience of European banks is not enough without competitiveness. The commissioner also revealed that the EU intends to achieve political agreements by the end of the year on the Market Integration and Supervision Package, complementary pensions and securitization, within the Savings and Investment Union.

Brussels presents in early 2027 a "comprehensive package" to strengthen EU banking

The European Commission will present in early 2027 a "comprehensive package" of legislative measures to strengthen the EU banking sector. This future package will be based on the institution's report on banking sector competitiveness and the banking single market, presented last July, which identified three major challenges for the European banking sector. The goal is to strengthen European banking in the face of growing international competition and the regulatory and structural challenges the sector faces.
