Independent councilman of the Funchal Municipal Council Luís Filipe Santos defended, at the municipal executive meeting on September 10, a reinforcement of inspections in municipal social housing neighborhoods. The intervention comes in a context in which, according to the councilman, there are families with difficulties in accessing housing and a high demand for municipal homes.
Luís Filipe Santos defended that inspections should focus especially on situations that may indicate changes in the economic condition of social housing beneficiaries. The councilman considered that cases such as the presence of Mercedes brand vehicles in social housing neighborhoods should trigger inspection actions.
The councilman defended that it is necessary to ensure that public housing support actually reaches those who need it. The municipal executive meeting served as a stage for this intervention on the management of the municipality's housing heritage.
