Benfica thrashed Moreirense 4-0 this Wednesday, in a match referring to the 3rd round makeup game of the Liga Portugal Betclic. The eagles dominated the match and built an emphatic victory with goals from Vangelis Pavlidis, Andreas Schjelderup, Gianluca Prestianni, and Fredrik Aursnes.
Despite the convincing display and the result, there was one detail that did not go unnoticed by Yolanda Coluna, daughter of the historic Benfica legend, Mário Coluna. The former figure linked to the red and white universe lamented the pitch conditions during the match, classifying the state of the playing surface as "terrible".
Yolanda Coluna told Record newspaper that it was a good game, but considered the terrible state of the pitch regrettable. According to Mário Coluna's daughter, Benfica were very wasteful in the first half, but in the second half they played with all their grit and it was beautiful to see the dedication of all the players. Yolanda believes the final result was most deserved.
The state of the pitch ended up being an additional difficulty for the team managed by Marco Silva, who saw his side overcome the adversities of the turf to achieve such an emphatic victory.
