Benfica beat Moreirense 4-0 in Moreira de Cónegos, in a match where Marco Silva made two changes to the starting eleven, bringing on Banjaqui in place of Bah and Schjelderup in place of Sudakov. The Eagles' side dominated the game from the start and created several goal-scoring opportunities, but only managed to open the scoring in stoppage time of the first half. Referee Fábio Veríssimo awarded a penalty to Benfica after a VAR review, due to a foul by Parsemain inside the area, and Pavlidis converted the spot kick to put Benfica ahead.
In the second half, the Eagles quickly extended the lead. In the opening minutes, Prestianni assisted Schjelderup for the second goal. Shortly after, Prestianni himself intervened again, this time finishing after another individual play, scoring the team's third goal. Near the end, Aursnes, who came on wearing the captain's armband, closed the scoring with a first-time shot, fixing the final score at 4-0.
Moreirense, managed by Vasco Botelho da Costa, tried to stay organized and compact throughout the match, but failed to create any real danger near the opposition goal.
With this victory, Benfica have scored seven goals in their last two games while keeping a clean sheet, moving closer to FC Porto in second place in the standings and level on points with Sporting.
