Lucy Castle, a 41-year-old British woman, received a diagnosis of type 2 diabetes after seeking medical help due to dizziness and tingling sensations that appeared after the birth of her youngest son. At that time, her weight exceeded 100 kilos. The mother of three children describes how she avoided social events, hid in loose clothing, and couldn't keep up with the children, which led her to decide to change her eating habits.

Lucy states that cheese was the central food in her diet, consuming it daily in various forms, from cheese on bread to grated cheese added to practically every meal. She describes herself as completely addicted to this product, identifying Brie as her favorite variety, and admits she used to spend about 1,400 euros a year on this food. Alongside cheese, her diet also included chips, chocolates, and other quick and convenient options.

After the diagnosis, Lucy removed cheese from her diet and started using replacement meals and products, such as soups, shakes, and prepared snacks. Regular weight monitoring was fundamental to maintaining motivation, and after four months she managed to lose 30 kilos. She later reintroduced home-cooked meals, including stir-fried chicken.

The physical transformation also brought changes in how Lucy relates to her own body, starting to enjoy buying clothes that make her feel good. The experience was so significant that it led her to change careers, becoming a wellness coach to help other people change their habits. In her testimony, she highlights the importance of taking things gradually, being gentle with yourself, and practicing self-love.
