Livestock producers from the Miranda Highlands held a demonstration on September 6 against the increase in wolf attacks in the region. The action was organized by UPGALL — Union of Livestock Producers Damaged by Wolves, which represents the farmers affected by these attacks.
The manifestation comes in response to the worsening of wolf attacks on livestock in the Miranda Highlands area. The livestock farmers gathered to demonstrate their protest and demand more effective measures to protect their animals.
The producers consider that there has not been an adequate response from the authorities to address the problem of attacks. This lack of solution is seen as particularly serious in a region where livestock farming is an important economic activity.
UPGALL prepared a document describing what happened during this manifestation, warning that the measure of payment in 20 days (presumably for compensation for attacks) does not solve the underlying problem of wolf attacks in the region.
