A European study reveals that salary insufficiency is the main cause of precariousness in Portugal. According to the study, 75% of Portuguese people identify low incomes as the main reason for their precarious situation.
Portuguese workers have a higher percentage than the European average regarding the inability to cover all monthly expenses. This situation places Portugal above the European Union average on this indicator.
The study shows that the problem of precariousness in Portugal is deeply linked to the salary issue, with a large part of the active population unable to guarantee sufficient income to cover their basic needs and expenses.
