Daimler Truck is set to close its tb.lx technology center in Lisbon and lay off around 100 people. The German truck manufacturer's technology subsidiary announced it will cease operations by March 2027, eight years after starting operations in Portugal.
The technology center was located in the Baixa-Chiado area of Lisbon, where it had moved in 2024. At that time, the company was still hiring new employees, a sign that operations appeared to be growing.
The decision to close tb.lx represents a setback in Daimler Truck's technological presence in Portugal. The company did not disclose the specific reasons for the center's closure, which employed around a hundred people.
