More than 100 abandoned cars are occupying spots in the municipality of Espinho, with accumulated dirt, vegetation growing around them and evident signs of prolonged stay in the same location. The problem is now in the sights of the Espinho City Council, which has already identified 114 cases and is preparing an operation to remove these vehicles from public roads.
The newspaper Defesa de Espinho found two concrete examples in the Anta area. On Rua do Progresso, a vehicle shows clear signs of having been immobilized for quite some time, with visible dirt on both the bodywork and the windows.
In addition to the lack of maintenance, it is possible to observe vegetation growing next to the car and absence of a visible rear license plate, which reinforces the suspicion of prolonged abandonment. The municipal operation aims to remove these vehicles that occupy public space improperly.
