Now10 September 2026 at 09:15

The current and former mayor of Valongo City Council will learn this Thursday the judicial decision regarding the case in which they are defendants. Both mayors are suspected of having ordered the prohibition of truck circulation on Municipal Road 606, which gives access to the Sobrado landfill. This prohibition was allegedly determined in 2020, with the aim of forcing the closure of that waste facility. The trial lasted several months and the reading of the sentence is now scheduled shortly.
