Zelenskyy arrives in Canada for talks with Carney, Russian attacks kill three in Ukraine

Euronews Portugal10 September 2026 at 09:34

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Canada for talks with Prime Minister Mark Carney. The visit comes at a time of heightened tensions between the two countries, in the context of a prolonged war in Ukraine.

At least three people died in Ukraine due to Russian attacks. Ukrainian authorities report civilian casualties resulting from Russia's continuous bombings of Ukrainian territory.

Ukraine's Special Operations Forces announced they carried out the longest-range attack ever conducted against Russia. Ukrainian drones traveled a distance of 3,000 kilometers to the Yamalo-Nenets autonomous district, in northern Siberia.

The target of the attack was two factories located in that region, which constitutes Russia's main oil and gas hub. This district is of vital strategic importance for the Russian energy economy.
