The day after the removal of the Federal Police director-general, Andrei Rodrigues, the corporation carried out at least 14 operations in different regions of the country. During that interval, officers executed more than 80 court orders.
The decision to remove Andrei Rodrigues was made by Justice André Mendonça of the Supreme Court on Tuesday morning. The reason for the removal was not specified in the article.
The director-general was reinstated to the position 24 hours later by order of Justice Flávio Dino, also of the Supreme Court. Dino cited the risk of paralysis of Federal Police activities as justification for the reinstatement.
