ADN Madeira demands animal protection inspection in the 11 municipalities

ADN Madeira advocates for a public evaluation on the compliance with animal protection and welfare legislation in the 11 municipalities of the Region, with information about municipal veterinary coverage, official collection solutions, inspection, and available resources, in addition to cooperation with the associations working in the field.

The position is stated by Maíza Fernandes, of ADN Madeira, who considers it necessary to clarify the municipal veterinary coverage situation in the Region.

Regional legislation establishes specific rules for animal protection that should be applied at the municipal level, but according to ADN Madeira, there is not enough transparency about how each municipality is implementing these legal obligations.
