The minister of the Attorney General's Office (AGU), Jorge Messias, had a conversation with the president of the Supreme Federal Court (STF), Edson Fachin, on Wednesday before the decisions made by the magistrate to try to resolve the crisis affecting the Court. During the afternoon, government members began to affirm behind the scenes that they believed Fachin would soon issue a ruling to annul Tuesday's decision by minister André Mendonça that removed the director-general of the Federal Police, Andrei Rodrigues, from the position, despite having given on Tuesday a 72-hour deadline for the Court colleague to respond to a motion filed by the AGU. In the morning, a ruling by minister Flávio Dino had already reinstated Rodrigues to the post. In the conversation, Messias made an appeal for Fachin to enter the case soon with the objective of restoring institutional order. He also argued that without the intervention of the STF president, another minister could make a new ruling determining the director's removal.
