In Portugal, financial literacy continues to be a competency far from being consolidated in the population. This situation represents a significant challenge for citizens who wish to protect and grow their wealth.
According to the latest OECD/INFE survey, only 48% of Portuguese people reached the basic level of financial knowledge. This value reveals an important gap in the financial education of the Portuguese population.
This result places Portugal in 21st position among 39 countries assessed in this dimension, showing that the country still has a considerable path to follow regarding the financial literacy of its citizens.
