The Lisbon stock exchange opened the session in positive territory, with a gain of 0.62% to 9,501.21 points. EDP led the opening with a rise of 1.57% to 4.798 euros, followed by NOS with 1.43% to 4.966 euros. EDP Renováveis increased 1.45% to 13.33 euros, BCP added 0.90% to 1.1710 euros and Corticeira Amorim advanced 0.14% to 6.99 euros.
Counter-cyclically, Jerónimo Martins lost 0.60% to 18.08 euros, Semapa fell 0.48% to 20.60 euros, Mota-Engil slipped 0.24% to 4.892 euros and Altri retreated 0.11% to 4.710 euros.
The main European stock exchanges followed the national trend, with the DAX advancing 0.16% to 25,601.00 points, the CAC40 increasing 0.31% to 8,181.78 points and the Ibex35 gaining 0.68% to 19,814.17 points.
In the oil market, Texas WTI fell 0.22% to 95.88 dollars and Brent slipped 0.31% to 100.90 dollars, while natural gas lost 0.75% to 2.787 dollars. In the foreign exchange market, the euro strengthened 0.07% against the dollar, settling at 1.1639 dollars.
