Manuel Luís Goucha, a well-known Portuguese television presenter, recalled in an interview having received a medical prescription for a medication that he ultimately did not take. Goucha revealed that only many years later did he manage to find out what medication had been prescribed to him.
According to the interview, he discovered that this prescription would have been one of the first prescriptions of Prozac, a revolutionary medication in the treatment of depression that emerged at the time. The presenter did not specify in which year he received the prescription nor when he had this revelation.
The interview is part of the "Together Against Depression" project, an initiative by CNN Portugal that seeks to alert and raise public awareness about the issues of depression and mental health.
