Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre told public broadcaster NRK that the plane carrying Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was almost hit by a drone as it took off from Moldova. Støre commented on the situation saying: "This is the reality we live in," without providing further details about the incident.
The flight was bound for Oslo, where Zelenskyy would attend the funeral of Norway's King Harald V. The Ukrainian president was in Norway along with other foreign dignitaries for the funeral ceremony.
The Ukrainian Presidency downplayed the severity of the episode, contradicting the version presented by the Norwegian Prime Minister. The incident occurred while Zelenskyy was traveling back from Moldova, a neighboring country of Ukraine, to the Norwegian capital.
