The municipality of Almodôvar announced that the council will celebrate the European Heritage Days with a diversified program. The activities are scheduled for September 18th and 20th.

The program includes a scientific meeting that aims to bring together specialists and those interested in heritage issues. At the same time, guided visits will be held that will allow participants to better understand the local heritage.

The event also features a concert of ancient and baroque music, which promises to enrich the cultural offering of these days. This type of music fits within the valorization of the region's historical and cultural heritage.

The announcement was made by the municipality of Almodôvar itself, emphasizing the importance of these celebrations for the preservation and dissemination of European heritage.

New comic book 'inspired' by the montado released in Odemira

The fourth edition of the comic book "Histórias à Sombra do Montado" was launched in Odemira, a project by Ronha – Associação Cultural that brings together four authors and four illustrators in stories inspired by the cork oak woodland ecosystem of the Alentejo. Created in 2022 with support from Odemira Municipality, the project aims to pay homage to the montado as an identifying element of the territory, raising awareness for its preservation through art. The 2026 edition has a print run of 4,000 copies distributed free of charge in the municipality and is available for download on the project's website.
