Death toll rises to 32 in attacks against prison in Yemen

Diário de Coimbra9 September 2026 at 23:00

The number of dead in attacks against a prison in Yemen has risen to 32, according to information from the country's Ministry of Health. Authorities indicate that this number is still preliminary, given that rescue work is still underway.

A spokesperson for the Ministry of Health lamented that most of the victims' bodies are dismembered, which makes it difficult to identify and accurately count the people killed in this incident.

Rescue teams are working "day and night" to locate more victims under the rubble. The search and rescue operation continues at the facilities of the prison hit by the attacks.
