Choice of positions for medical training now online

Observador9 September 2026 at 22:17

The process of choosing positions for medical training has become online, replacing the in-person method that was in effect until 2025. This change represents a significant update in the way candidates access medical training positions.

The new model is described as "comparable to public higher education", indicating that it follows similar standards to those used in other higher education institutions in Portugal. This comparison suggests that the online system was inspired by already established models.

One of the main advantages of this transition is the possibility for candidates to participate in the process of choosing positions without needing to travel to ACSS facilities. This change eliminates geographical and logistical barriers that could previously hinder candidates' participation.

The change was implemented starting from 2025, marking a modernization in the process of allocating positions for medical training in Portugal.
