Einstein Hospital Israelita was considered the best hospital in Latin America by the IntelLat Ranking of Best Hospitals and Clinics in Latin America in 2026. Two other Brazilian institutions complete the top of the ranking, occupying fourth and fifth place: Hospital Sírio-Libanês and Hospital Moinhos de Vento, respectively.
The "top 5" of the ranking also includes Hospital Italiano de Buenos Aires from Argentina in second place, and Fundación Santa Fe de Bogotá from Colombia in third place. In the 2025 edition, only two Brazilian hospitals were among the top five, showing an evolution of Brazil's health institutions in the region.
The complete ranking brings together 105 hospitals from Latin America and has strong Brazilian presence. Among the other highlighted national hospitals are Hospital Alemão Oswaldo Cruz (14th), Hospital Nove de Julho (16th), Hospital do Coração - HCor (18th), and Hospital de Clínicas de Porto Alegre (20th). In total, 41 Brazilian institutions are part of the ranking, with 7 among the top 20 and 15 among the top 50 placed.
