The Justice system of Minas Gerais indefinitely suspended the medical practice of plastic surgeon Rodrigo Ribeiro Credidio. The decision was made by the 26th Civil Court of Belo Horizonte, at the request of the Public Defender's Office of Minas Gerais, after complaints of possible irregularities in procedures performed at Clínica Credidio Cirurgia Plástica e Nutrologia, a facility owned by him in the capital of Minas Gerais. In addition to removing the physician, the court ordered him to step down from the technical management of the clinic.
One of the cases cited in the lawsuit is that of a 59-year-old patient who died in April 2024 after undergoing five plastic surgery procedures in a single session. Her son, Gustavo Botelho, reported that she experienced complications from the procedures and died two months later.
Gustavo Botelho considered the decision a victory for the affected families. According to him, the suspension of Rodrigo Credidio's medical practice represents the outcome of a battle fought in defense of patients who suffered complications from procedures performed by the surgeon.
