A new fire outbreak was detected in the Pomar da Rocha area, in Ribeira Brava, during the afternoon. This second fire forced the mobilization of resources that were already on the ground to fight a first fire, which was in the resolution phase.
According to a Civil Protection source, aerial resources could not be used for the new fire, since they cannot operate after sunset.
The same source stated that the second fire has nothing to do with the first, and is therefore considered an autonomous fire.
