Public safety posts grow 50% on social networks and, for the first time, Lula leads engagement on the topic among presidential candidates

oglobo9 September 2026 at 20:16

The debate about public safety on social networks grew 50% between August 30 and September 7, with 3.5 million posts and 72 million interactions on the topic. Public safety appears consistently among the main concerns of Brazilians.

The report was produced by Instituto Democracia em Xeque in partnership with Instituto Sou da Paz. The blog had exclusive access to the survey data.

For the first time, PT candidate Lula appears in the leadership of engagement about public safety among the presidential candidates monitored. The data represents a significant political novelty in the electoral scenario.

The report indicates that Lula expanded his capacity to set the agenda on the topic, associating the fight against organized crime with the presence of the State, international cooperation, and defense of sovereignty.
