The first PhD Programme Approved for the School of Health of Viseu

The first PhD programme of the School of Health of Viseu was approved by the Agency for Assessment and Accreditation of Higher Education. This approval represents an important milestone for the institution, which now begins offering third-cycle education.

The approved programme is called "Health and Integrated Care" and is integrated into the Polytechnic University of Viseu. This doctoral training reinforces the institution's academic offering in the field of health sciences.

The School of Health of Viseu, integrated into the Polytechnic University of Viseu, has thus reached a new level in terms of its educational offerings, now able to confer doctoral degrees in the areas of health and integrated care.

Whole fruit or crushed? Young people investigate glycemic response at FCNAUP

Three young secondary school students — Vitória Figueiredo, from Viseu, Yasmin Dias, from Porto, and Nelson Santos, from Gondomar — participated as researchers at the Faculty of Food Sciences and Nutrition of the University of Porto (FCNAUP), between August 31st and September 5th. During that week, the students, aged 16 and 17, conducted a study on the glycemic response of consuming whole fruit versus crushed fruit, investigating how the form of fruit preparation can influence blood sugar levels.
