The 17-year-old Brazilian tennis player Guto Miguel defeated Hong Kong athlete Kai Thompson on Wednesday (09) and advanced to the quarterfinals of the US Open Junior. The Brazilian started the first set very well, managed two breaks, and closed it out comfortably at 6/2. In the second set, Guto struggled at the beginning and was broken, with Kai Thompson going up 3-0, but the Brazilian reacted and closed the set at 6/4.

Now, Guto Miguel is waiting for the winner of the match between French player Daniel Jade and American player Jordan Lee. The date and time of the next match will still be determined by the competition organizers, and the broadcast will be on Disney+.

In June of this year, the Brazilian teenager was the Roland Garros Junior champion, confirming himself as the world number 1 in the category. This victory at the US Open Junior reinforces the good momentum of the tennis player in the international junior circuit.

Raphinha, Barcelona forward, showed discomfort when asked about the Ballon d'Or after Barcelona's 5-1 victory over Feyenoord in the Champions League. The Brazilian, who scored a goal in the match, refused to comment on the subject, stating that he only talks about Barcelona. His absence from the list of 30 finalists was considered one of the biggest surprises of the award. Raphinha had excellent performance in the 2025/26 season, with 21 goals and seven assists in 33 games, being one of the main reasons for the La Liga title.
