Out of the list of 30 candidates for the Ballon d'Or, forward Raphinha from Barcelona showed discomfort when questioned about the award after Barcelona's 5-1 victory over Feyenoord on Wednesday (9), in the Champions League. The Brazilian, who scored a goal in the match, preferred not to comment on the subject.
Raphinha only said that he talks about Barcelona and that the team is having a spectacular season. The forward's absence among the nominees was one of the biggest surprises on the shortlist for the Ballon d'Or.
The forward was one of Barcelona's main highlights in winning La Liga in the 2025/26 season. He scored 21 goals and provided seven assists in 33 games wearing the Barça shirt last season.
Only three Brazilians appeared among the 30 nominees: defenders Gabriel Magalhães from Arsenal and Marquinhos from PSG, and forward Vinícius Jr. from Real Madrid. Raphinha was mentioned by coach Carlo Ancelotti after Wednesday's match.
