The president of the Court of Auditors warned that the new law on monitoring public spending does not offer sufficient incentives to the Public Administration to ensure the legality of expenses. According to the official, this situation represents a significant flaw in the new control model.
The president expressed particular concern about smaller entities, such as parish councils, which raise greater doubts in terms of monitoring and compliance with budgetary rules.
In her warning, the president of the Court of Auditors also referred to long-term contracts, which she considered are not being adequately safeguarded. These contracts have an impact on future generations, but the current legal framework does not guarantee due protection of these long-term financial commitments.
