Ceuta. Secret services warned authorities from Spain and Morocco

Observador9 September 2026 at 19:17

Internal documentation declassified by the Spanish Government confirmed that Spanish intelligence services warned Spanish and Moroccan authorities about possible entries into Ceuta "through the fences and by sea", one day before these events occurred.

Ceuta is a Spanish enclave located in northern Africa, bordering Morocco. The declassified documentation reveals that there was prior information about the possibility of massive entry attempts into the Spanish territory.

The authorities of both countries were alerted through secret communications about the risks of irregular entries at the land and sea border of Ceuta.

The Spanish Government took the decision to declassify these documents, now allowing the details of the warnings that were transmitted to the authorities before the incidents occurred at the Ceuta border to be known.

Supports "never" are sufficient to mitigate the increase in cost of living

The Minister of Economy and Territorial Cohesion, Castro Almeida, stated that the supports announced by the Government "never" will be sufficient to mitigate the increase in the cost of living, at a time when Portugal is affected by several "wars". The official stated that no country with balanced accounts has enough money to support a war situation, although the country is not at war but suffering its consequences. When asked whether the reduction of IRS up to the 6th bracket and the bonus for pensioners would be sufficient, Castro Almeida highlighted that, despite the Budget having been presented without a budget surplus, the Finance Minister came to reveal that there will be a positive surplus that allows allocating an additional 800 million euros of public expenditure. The minister also responded to PS's criticisms, guaranteeing that the State "is not profiting from the war", explaining that the increase in VAT revenue is being offset by the reduction of ISP.
