The parents of a child who died at a school in Leiria are demanding compensation of almost 500 thousand euros. The amount requested exceeds 480 thousand euros and aims to compensate the family for the damages suffered.
The legal proceedings have as defendant the school where the incident that led to the minor's death is alleged to have occurred. The educational institution has not yet publicly commented on the allegations.
A preliminary hearing of the case is scheduled for September 22. At this initial stage, the court should define the next steps of the trial and analyze the evidence presented by both parties.
The case is generating media attention in Portugal, given the high amount of compensation requested and the gravity of the circumstances surrounding the child's death.
