The Chega party requested an urgent hearing of the national director of the Judicial Police (PJ) about operation Pacoba. This request comes in a context of political tension related to this investigation.
André Ventura, leader of Chega, accused the minister of having lied to Parliament during explanations about the operation. This accusation comes after revelations about contradictory information regarding the case.
Rita Alarcão Júdice, the Minister of Justice, guarantees that no one lied to Parliament. The minister acknowledges, however, having received incorrect information from the PJ.
Operation Pacoba allegedly involves former minister Fernando Medina, current president of the Lisbon City Council, in an investigation that has generated strong political debate.
