The Municipal Pavilion of Valença hosts, between September 11 and 13, the 12th Eurocity Roller Hockey Tournament, one of the highlights of the city's sporting calendar, bringing together teams from both sides of the river. The tournament features the participation of around 400 athletes representing 14 Portuguese and Spanish clubs.
Among the participating clubs, the highlights include Valença Hóquei Clube, Hockey Club Pontevedra, Riba d'Ave Hóquei Clube, Associação Juventude de Viana, CIS, A.C.D. Gulpilhares, Club Hockey Oleiros, Hockey Club Frieiras, U.D. Oliveirense, ADS Hóquei, Hockey Club Cee, União Sport Club de Paredes, Hóquei Clube de Braga and Oleiros Clube de Braga.
The competition covers all ages, from Under-7, Under-9, Under-11, Under-13, Under-15 and Under-17 categories, to Men's and Women's Seniors, and veterans. The tournament is organized by Valença HC, in partnership with the Municipality of Valença and the Council of Tui, as part of the sporting calendar of the Eurocity Tui-Valença.
