State Secretary appeals for responsible use of the forest

Secretary of State Rui Rocha participated in a meeting in Boticas, district of Vila Real, to address the responsible use of the forest. The meeting, which lasted more than three hours, was hosted by Guilherme Pires, mayor of the Municipality of Boticas, and also featured the presence of Fátima Fernandes, mayor of Montalegre.

As Rui Rocha explained at the end of the meeting, these meetings are being promoted in locations affected by the most complex fires, with the aim of understanding what happened and identifying aspects that can be improved during the current fire season.

The official highlighted that there is no need to wait for the new 2027 device to check if there are improvements that can be implemented this year. The current firefighting device remains in effect until October 15.
