Study by ARDITI aims to uncover fish consumption habits of Madeirans

The AQUAFISH0.0 project is developing a study to better understand the fish consumption habits of the population of the Autonomous Region of Madeira. The research also aims to assess the knowledge and perceptions of Madeirans about aquaculture and valorisation of fish by-products. ARDITI – Regional Agency for the Development of Research, Technology and Innovation is a partner in this project, contributing to its implementation in the region. This study arises within a broader effort to understand the dietary behaviour of the Madeiran population regarding seafood products.

Toasted skin syndrome, also known as Erythema Ab Igne (EAI), is a burn caused by prolonged exposure to low-intensity heat. Traditionally associated with the use of hot water bottles and heating pads, the condition has become increasingly common in children due to heat emitted by electronic devices such as computers, phones and laptops. A case review published by a researcher from Leicester NHS Trust reports the case of a child who arrived at the emergency room with a rash without apparent causes, returning two weeks later with worsening symptoms including pain on touch and peeling. Doctors warn about the need for awareness regarding the risks of prolonged use of electronic devices near the skin.

Amazonas professor Bibiano Silva da Costa presented at the São Paulo Book Fair on September 7 his book "The Method of Sequences A and B and the Equations that Determine Only Prime Numbers," published by Autografia Editora. The work, the result of decades of studies and more than 40 years dedicated to teaching mathematics, proposes a new method to observe the distribution of prime numbers through so-called sequences A and B and mathematical relationships developed by the author. The method organizes numbers and identifies composites through sums and equations, presenting the remaining numbers as primes, in addition to addressing semiprimes and seeking to make the study of these numbers more accessible.
